Dr Paul O'Connor

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr Paul graduated from the University of Queensland in 1989.
Originally from South Australia, Paul brings his wealth of large animal experience to Kangaroo Flat, including his Q-Alpaca accreditation.
Paul is also accomplished at small animal surgery and is able to perform a variety of orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures.
Throughout his career, Paul has travelled the world and worked in such places as El Salvador, Ethiopia, England and all over Australia.
Paul and his family call Castlemaine their home, which they share with their cat, lovingly named Adelaide.


Dr Emma Daly

Lead Veterinarian

Dr Emma Daly has a strong interest in Internal Medicine, Complex Surgeries and Animal Behaviour.   Emma started working with Kangaroo Flat Vet clinic on a permanent basis in 2024.

We would like to welcome Dr Alan Clark to the clinic, Alan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Alan also practices Veterinary Acupuncture. 


Dr Brianna Waterson

Veterinarian (BSc DVM)

Dr Brianna graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2016.
A Bendigo girl, Brianna has grown up surrounded by dogs, cats, a pony and alpacas and knew that she wanted to come back and work in the area.
We were lucky enough to have Brianna as a placement student whilst she was in vet school, and we knew then that she was going to be a part of the Kangaroo Flat Veterinary Clinic team.
Brianna's goal is to get as much experience as she can in all aspects of mixed practice, and is looking forward to discovering what her niche will be.
Brianna lives locally with her newly adopted cat, Piper, which she acquired less than 2 months after starting here.. a new clinic record !


Emma Dickinson

Veterinarian (Veterinarian )

Dr Emma will be joining us from September 2025.  Emma has a strong interest in large animals, but in particular horses,  Emma has recently completed a 12 month Equine Internship.

Megan Grigg

Veterinary Practice Manager (Diploma of Veterinary Nursing )

Megan started working at Kangaroo Flat Veterinary Clinic in 2000.
Originally from Echuca, Megan grew up on a hobby farm, which was home to a variety of animals, large and small.
Completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2004 through the Box Hill Institute of TAFE, Megan's interest was in emergency medicine and large animals.
Throughout her career, Megan has completed several emergency medicine courses and her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing.

Rachael Hecker

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Rachael started working at Kangaroo Flat Veterinary clinic in 2014.
Returning to study after 20 years, to pursue her dream career, Rachael graduated in 2016 from Open Colleges.

Originally from Inglewood, Rachael grew up with a dog and a cat and has always known that working in the animal industry is what she wanted to do.
Rachael is very passionate about horses and has also developed a keen interest in surgery since working at the clinic.
